Gromit...

This post was written a few weeks ago whilst on holiday, when I was only thinking about a blog!...
On the day Gromit Unleashed ends, it seems apt to look back and remember 'A Grand Day Out' (see what I did there?)...

Any how we spent the day in Bristol...
The last time we went there was nearly 7 years ago (pre babies), on our way to Cornwall for a week by the beach...
A beach covered in seaweed, dog turds! and litter!... Romantic huh?...
It was peeing down with rain so we spent the day in a bar and saw nothing of Bristol NOTHING!... but rain, rain and more rain.
We got engaged that evening in Cafe Maitreya... Veggie food to die for!...

7 years later we returned with 2 toddlers and Gromit has been unleashed on the city, a charity art exhibition from Aardman and what a great idea it is...
All proceeds from Gromit Unleashed go towards Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity...

80 Gromit sculptures painted by 80 different artists, designers and celebrities... Some local to Bristol others not...

With an old school paper map for the 3yr old and an app for the mister off we went in search of Gromits...

On the way we found lots of great veggie food (falafels) and had lots of fun a few toddler meltdowns and a few adult meltdowns, we found 17 Gromits altogether, my favourites being Gromit Lightyear, Hero Gromit, Salty Sea Dog and Gromitosaurus...

What a beautiful day, great city, fantastic vibe...
Bristol we will return... X
